Inside / Outside Living

Luxury eco homes in Spain

A passive house sounds like a wonderful idea doesn’t it? It can be minus 10°C outside and you are warm and cosy inside with no heating on. And you’re breathing fresh air too.

But then you find out that you’re not supposed to open the doors or windows even when it’s hot and you think to yourself, “well that’s not why I came to Spain”.  And you’re right. We all came to Spain to enjoy the wonderful weather not to be cooped up in an airtight box.

That’s why we design our houses for inside / outside living. We use large shaded terraces that protect your building from over-heating and make great spaces for barbecues and eating outside.

When it gets too hot or cold, which it does in much of Spain, then glass walls mean that you are still in touch with the outside and it feels as though you are outside even though you are in an highly comfortable, airtight house.

You know that feeling on a hot day when you walk into a cathedral and the big-space coolness hits you. That’s what it’s like in an Eco Vida home in the summer.
